Non-communicable diseases are among the leading causes of premature death and years of healthy life lost. In Ukraine, NCDs account for approximately 84% of all deaths.

The most common include cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases.Yet many of the risk factors behind these conditions can be reduced or managed. Tobacco use, alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, and unhealthy diets are among the major lifestyle-related factors that contribute to the development of NCDs.

The new online assessment tool helps people better understand how their everyday habits may affect their health, identify potential risks, and take practical steps towards healthier living.

‍What can the online test tell you?

‍By completing the questionnaire, users can:

  • identify their personal health risk factors;
  • assess their level of physical activity;
  • review their intake of salt, vegetables, fruit, and dairy products;
  • calculate their body mass index (BMI);
  • assess tobacco dependence and health risks associated with alcohol consumption;
  • optionally analyse the calorie content and nutritional composition of their daily diet.

The tool also offers interactive features that make health risks easier to understand. Users can calculate how much they spend on tobacco or alcohol, explore recommendations for healthier eating and increased physical activity, and try a life expectancy calculator.

The calculator illustrates how lifestyle changes could positively influence life expectancy, helping users see the potential long-term benefits of healthier choices.

‍Anonymous assessment with personalised results

‍The questionnaire is completely anonymous. Once completed, users receive a unique reference number or a link to their results, along with personalised health recommendations.They can also choose to share these results with their family doctor, helping make consultations more focused and informed.

‍A practical resource for healthcare professionals

‍The platform also includes a dedicated section for healthcare professionals, offering tailored recommendations based on patients’ identified risk factors.

Doctors can access practical guidance to support conversations with patients about quitting tobacco, reducing alcohol consumption, improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, and managing body weight.

The system also incorporates the 5R approach to motivational counselling, helping healthcare professionals address behaviour change more effectively.

These resources are designed to save time during consultations and support more personalised advice for different patient groups, including pregnant women, older adults, and people living with chronic conditions.
