We continue our educational work on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases among specialists in various fields. On October 21, the project team presented the activity of the NCD Knowledge Center in Poltava to journalists from the oblast
Television, newspaper, and online media journalists from Poltava and other cities in the region were able to:
learn more about the burden of noncommunicable diseases and their prevention from Volodymyr Holubev, coordinator of the NCD Knowledge Center in Poltava;
familiarize themselves with the media guide on NCDs www.actforhealth.in.ua/mediaguide in order to more effectively convey information about non-communicable diseases and motivate people to live healthy lives;
undergo practical training in important stress management skills for journalists;
meet representatives of Poltava communities and learn about their initiatives in the field of NCDs.
We hope that this knowledge will help journalists better inform people about ways to prevent non-communicable diseases and remind them to take care of their own health.
The Knowledge Center in Poltava was established on the basis of the Poltava Regional Public Health Center of the Poltava Regional Council with financial support from the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
The center's address is 52 Shvedska Street, Poltava.
