The National Forum on Noncommunicable Diseases will take place on November 14-15

Noncommunicable diseases are the leading cause of premature mortality and morbidity in Ukraine. The burden of NCDs is significant not only for the country's healthcare system and economy, but also for individual communities, as it is associated with disability, loss of working capacity, and premature mortality.

Therefore, the efforts of the state and its partners are aimed at developing and implementing effective prevention programs to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, and oncology today.

On November 14-15, 2023, the Ukrainian-Swiss project «Act for Health» together with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is organizing a National Forum on NCDs to bring together all partners and stakeholders to jointly combat NCDs.

At the event, we will discuss and hear about:

• the results of the implementation of the National Action Plan on Non-Communicable Diseases and the introduction of the Healthy School Model;
• the feasibility of investing in NCD prevention and control;
• the experience of community representatives in implementing best practices for the prevention and early detection of NCDs;
• piloting integrated medical and social services at home for older people with chronic non-communicable diseases and the prospects for developing this service.
