Work of Mobile Medical Teams in Pilot Oblasts

Results of work for June-September 2022
Launch of mobile medical teams in pilot regions.

War affects the health of each of us, but people with non-communicable diseases suffer the most, including:
▫️ Cardiovascular diseases
▫️ Diabetes mellitus
▫️ Cancer and other diseases

These diseases are dangerous because, without timely diagnosis and treatment, they can lead to serious complications, disability, and death.

To help people in the pilot oblasts and support the healthcare system, the «Act for Health» project team studied the experience of other countries during armed conflicts* and analyzed local problems. They launched Mobile Medical Teams, which provided primary healthcare services where access to them was limited for various reasons.

What the teams did on the ground:
▫️ Diagnostics: ECG, blood pressure measurement, blood glucose and cholesterol testing.
▫️ Provided consultations and prescribed necessary treatment.
▫️ Dispensed long-term medication.
▫️ Referred patients to narrow-profile specialists.
▫️ Provided psychological assistance.

During the work of the mobile medical teams (June-September 2022), more than 6,000 local residents and internally displaced persons received the necessary assistance.
