Training seminar for mobile medical teams

In April, a training seminar was held in Kyiv for doctors, nurses, psychologists from mobile primary healthcare teams, and their coordinators from non-governmental organizations in the Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Poltava, and Rivne oblasts of Ukraine.

The medical staff of the teams received the most up-to-date knowledge based on evidence-based medicine and mastered the following skills:

  • providing emergency medical care, taking into account the specifics of the work of mobile teams;
  • using PEN-H protocols in their work;
  • using MMK equipment (ECG, tonometer, peak flow meter, glucometer/cholesterol meter, otoscope);
  • prescribing medications;
  • identifying risk factors for non-communicable diseases and counseling patients.

A separate section was devoted to psychological assistance: providing first psychological aid, diagnostic criteria for mental disorders, identifying mental disorders, and redirection. Methods for combating professional burnout and maintaining a healthy psychological climate within teams were mastered.

The second day of the training was devoted to the topic of organizing the activities of MMT by non-governmental organizations, reporting and budgeting issues, and creating comfortable conditions for team staff and patients.
