One Care celebrates two months of service: Over 400 people have received home care services

One Care celebrates two months of service: Over 400 people have received home care services

Often these are people who have been without medical care or social support for a very long time because they cannot leave their homes or even get out of bed on their own:

- Most are over 62 years old;

- 71.5% are women;

- 60% have hypertension;

- 48% have musculoskeletal disorders;

- 29% have suffered a stroke;

- 25% are bedridden;

- 22% are war veterans;

- 16% are lonely (living alone).

Our clients' needs are very different and often unique, so One Care takes an individual approach to each and every one of them. Some need help registering with social services or signing a declaration with a family doctor, some need help cleaning their homes and taking care of their hygiene needs, and some need help repairing their wheelchairs or learning how to move safely around their homes.

One Care's goal is to provide medical and social assistance to the most vulnerable members of the community, as well as to develop the quality and professionalism of home care services at the local level.

Currently, One Care's pilot teams are working in the Zdolbuniv and Demydiv communities.

We plan to launch our project in other oblasts very soon.

The project is being implemented by the One Health agency as part of the Ukrainian-Swiss project «Act for Health» with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
