From June 17 to 20, the Healthy School Camp was held in Lviv Oblast, a health week for educators from Dnipro, Lviv, Poltava, and Rivne oblasts whose schools participate in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine's innovative project, the Healthy School Model.

During the Healthy School Camp, more than 150 participants exchanged ideas and practices for promoting health in educational institutions, and took part in practical exercises designed to help change the behavior of educators to a healthier one.

As part of the Healthy School Camp, Yevhen Klopotenko, chef, restaurateur, social activist, blogger, presented and handed over to partner educational institutions a new “Collection of recipes for children's meals in educational institutions, children's health and recreation facilities, and social protection institutions” developed with the support of the Ukrainian-Swiss project «Act for Health».

The Healthy School Camp program included meetings and workshops with leading experts in the field of non-communicable disease prevention, healthy eating, mental health, sports and physical activity. Among them were: Tamara Suhenko, psychologist, business coach, guest speaker at the Kyiv Mohyla Business School; Ihor Zastavnyi, family doctor, co-founder of the Academy of FamilyMedicine of Ukraine; Halyna Maistruk, head of the implementation office of the Ukrainian-Swiss project «Act for Health», doctor; Andriy Bolyak president of UkraineActive, deputy head of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine,Kateryna Holzberg, child and family psychologist, president of the Association of Child Analytical Psychologists, architect Marko Savytskyi, and Anna Aksenova, founder of the Playinq, an architectural research initiative.

«The main goal of the Healthy School Camp is best conveyed by its slogan, Growing up in the rhythm of health! This is a unique week-long program and a new format for professional development of educators to promote and create a healthy school. The Healthy School Camp program organicallycombines opportunities for learning, communication with leading experts in the field of public health, nutrition, sports, psychology, game technologies and education management, and providesopportunities for educators to restore their health, personal and professional growth. The success of this year's event inspired us to develop this format of continuing education and make the camp an annual event,» said Iryna Skorbun, initiator of the event and coordinator of the Healthy School component of the Ukrainian-Swiss project «Act for Health».

The Healthy School Model project involves the development, piloting, and implementation of a school-wide approach to prevent non-communicable diseases in secondary schools in Dnipro, Poltava, Lviv, Rivne, and Kherson oblasts.

Healthy School Camp is organized within the framework of the project «Reducing the Prevalence of Noncommunicable Disease Risk Factors in Ukraine» («Act for Health»), implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and implemented by a consortium of organizations - GFA Consulting Group, University Hospitals of Geneva / Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG), the Charitable Foundation «Women's Health and Family Planning» and One Health. The project is supported by Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
